34th International Old Catholic Congress

September 24–27, 2026, in Rheinfelden, Switzerland

Inspiring people – strengthening community. Under this motto, the Christian Catholic Church of Switzerland invites you to the 34th International Old Catholic Congress (IAKK) in Rheinfelden from September 24 to 27, 2026. The congress will take place during the 150th anniversary of the Christian Catholic Church of Switzerland. On September 18, 1876, Eduard Herzog was consecrated as the first Christian Catholic bishop of Switzerland in the St. Martin’s Church in Rheinfelden.

We would like to take this opportunity to draw your attention to this special event. A varied program awaits you in Rheinfelden. You can look forward to a whole host of different activities, ranging from information stands and dialogue forums to spiritual and liturgical celebrations. You will have the opportunity to explore different ideas and experience different forms of community. Of course, there will also be shared meals and aperitifs.

After the participants have arrived individually, the congress will begin its program on Friday, September 25, at 9 a.m. with the official welcome and will end on Sunday, September 27, after the festive service in St. Martin’s Church (10 a.m.), which will be broadcast on Swiss television, with a joint aperitif.

The congress ticket, which grants access to all official events and includes all aperitifs, lunches, and dinners during the congress, is available for 150 Swiss francs (day tickets for 50 Swiss francs). Hotel accommodations in various price categories will be available upon registration.

Special offers for young adults and young people aged 12 to 21 are an integral part of the congress. The costs of accommodation and congress tickets will be covered in principle for this group of young participants, however these participants pay a symbolic fee of 20 Swiss francs.

The registration documents with all the details will be sent out at the beginning of March 2026.
